U.S. Vanadium Buys Benton Plant, Secures Feedstock

U.S. Vanadium LLC (USV) of New York, NY has announced the purchase of a materials processing facility in Benton, AR that it says will help it continue to expand its production of high-purity vanadium and related products.

The facility, formerly owned by Saint-Gobain, is located 30 miles from the company’s existing production plant in Hot Springs, AR.

USV produces vanadium-based products by recovering contained vanadium from a variety of post-industrial waste streams, including from India.

Mark A Smith, USV’s CEO, said, “This strategic acquisition gives U.S. Vanadium greater flexibility and processing capacity for the various sources of vanadium feedstock that we utilize. Such vertical integration allows us to ramp up our production of high-purity vanadium more efficiently and at a lower cost. We are pleased to welcome to U.S. Vanadium the outstanding team at the Benton facility and we look forward to expanding our production across both of our Arkansas facilities.”

USV has also announced that it has secured five years of vanadium feed material. The company serves the needs of titanium alloy producers and the vanadium specialty chemicals market.
