New Western Energy Corp of Irvine, CA says that its wholly-owned subsidiary, New Western Mineral Extraction Inc, and Fodere Titanium Ltd of the UK have engaged Modern Mining Solutions and begun the construction of pilot plant in the U.S. for the zero waste recovery of high grade titanium dioxide and high purity vanadium. The pilot plant, currently under construction at Modern Mining’s facility in Reno, NV, will have an initial operating capacity of one tonne/day and will be expandable to 30 tonnes/day. New Western says that the 40,000 square foot facility is designed to be the most technologically advanced mining solutions center in the U.S. The facility will house over US$30 million of equipment, including a plasma recovery system for precious metals, a rare earth recovery system, and other systems focused on advanced recovery methods, including hydrometallurgy, pyro-metallurgy, particle size reduction. Concentration circuits, and an assay laboratory.
