Mill Creek Adds New Float Glass Customer

Inter-Rock Minerals Inc of Toronto, ON has recorded a second quarter net income of US$63,000 on million in the second quarter of 2014. The company owns two dolomite operations: MIN-AD Inc of gross revenue of US$2.9 million compared a net loss of US$237,000 on gross revenue of US$2.6 Winnemucca, NV and Mill Creek Dolomite LLC of Mill Creek, OK. Mill Creek reported second quarter sales volumes 2% higher than in the corresponding period of 2014, and revenue was 6% higher at US$1.05 million. Second quarter glass industry sales increased 25% because all of Mill Creek’s glass customers were running at close to full capacity and the company added a new float glass customer toward the end of the first quarter. Roofing filler sales decreased by 20% while aglime and oil and gas industry sales were minor due to heavy rains and decline in drilling activity. MIN-AD, which markets a specialty dolomite for the beef and dairy cattle feed industry, reported second quarter gross product revenue of US$1.807 million, 11% higher than in the same period of 2014. Second quarter feed sales volumes increased 12%. Volume was up in the Plains, Midwest, and Northeast and down slightly in the Western and Canadian regions. The company’’s granular product continues to be well received; sales volume increased 67% in the second quarter over the same period of 2014. MIN-AD holds claims for two zeolite deposits in northern Nevada, but these will be dropped in 2015, according to the company.
